Double-platinum-selling band The Fray(who saw that one coming??) are hitting the bricks this summer, on tour with special guests OK Go and Mae(first leg), and Eisley and Gomez(second leg). Check out their Myspace for all the dates, including a stop in Toronto in June that barring an Ottawa date I wanna go to. Who wants to make a roadtrip?? [CCM]

Jersey hardcore favourites Nora, when two of their number aren't busy running Ferret Records, are putting out their new album Save Yourself May 29th on Trustkill Records. I will own it, as I own all their other albums, for I am a fan. [Decoy]

Speaking of Trustkill, they're also releasing Hopesfall's new album Magnetic North, May 15th being the anticipated street date. I like me some Hopesfall. I remember when they spelled it lower-case with a period in front - .hopesfall.

Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates was in Ottawa earlier this week doing a speaking gig - and now comes word that his company has lost a $1.5 billion-dollar lawsuit and has to pay a bunch of cash to Lucent Technologies, over an MP3-patent-infringement case to do with Windows Media Player. Stick it to the man(I really don't care; just wanted to put that).

He Is Legend's new guitarist is Mitchell Marlow - but his nickname is far cooler than that: Turtle Power. I will now exult.

One of the most-loved - and most-hated - bands out there, Fall Out Boy, have posted their Kanye West-remixed version of 'This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race' over here. I don't know if I care to hear it. But drummer Andy Hurley sported a badass Misery Signals t-shirt on Last Call with Carson Daly last week.

Still Remains and Poison the Well have been added to this summer's Warped Tour. As well, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus are headlining the main stage, according to their Myspace bulletin.

Wow, didn't see this one coming - Rise Against guitarist Chris Chasse has left the band after a three-year stint. Bummer. I just saw those guys two weeks ago.

Puddle of Mudd still exists! I've heard rumours that one of their monster hits from their debut album was written, in fact, by an Ottawa guy who had the song swiped from him by a weaselly area label rep. True? We don't know. But I liked PoM anyway.

The kings of rap, Public Enemy, are going out on tour this year. The one date of interest to me is the following:
Toronto, Docks Nightclub and Concert Theatre (March 9)
Oh yes.

I will definitely read the autobiography of Guns 'N Roses guitarist Slash, who's teaming up with well-known author Anthony Bozza to get it all out of his drug-addled dome. No word on when the book will be out.

Sullivan have finished their second album for Tooth & Nail Records. It will undoubtedly be as boring as the first one. Sorry, I just don't like mediocre screamo. Are you listening, Silverstein? Just kidding - you know I love you.

Watch a trailer for Neil Young's new live album over here. It's called Live at Massey Hall(which is in Toronto, for those who don't know).

Apparently the much-vaunted Van Halen reunion tour with original vocalist David Lee Roth has been "postponed indefinitely." Natch.

Christian-pop princess Krystal Meyers, besides "writing" some really catchy songs a la Avril Lavigne et al, is also a bigtime fan of...Killswitch Engage? Between the Buried and Me? What? This cannot be true...but yes, it is. Awesome!

We mentioned Slash earlier - his old band Guns 'N Roses have once again scrapped the latest projected release date for the album that will in all likelihood never happen - Chinese Democracy. However, the album is apparently done the actual recording process, and the band will make their first-ever live appearances on the African continent soon, with shows scheduled for Johannesburg and Capetown, South Africa, in late April/early May. [Billboard]

It looks like the Al Gore-spearheaded Live Earth concert series later this year will be the biggest music circus since Woodstock. Confirmed performers at the one-day event spanning multiple continents include Tim McGraw, Fall Out Boy, Bon Jovi, John Mayer and about seventy more. What a public-relations chance! Hmph.
