Arguably the finest hardcore band in Canada(certainly the best-known), the lads of Comeback Kid have succumbed to the pestilence of countless requests and put new music up on their Myspace page, the title track to their upcoming third album Broadcasting. Enjoy.
Congratulations to my man Ken Dryden; he got his number 29 retired and hung in the rafters of Montreal's Bell Centre in honour of his eight-year career goaltending with the Canadiens, winning six - six! - Stanley Cups over that time and posting a record so unbelievable I'm not even gonna bother reprinting it here. Plus homey is an educated man with a law degree from the University of Toronto who found time in his playing days to collate a ton of notes that became a book called The Game, to this day my favourite hockey book. Word.
Victory Records really does still sign good bands from time to time - as evidenced by the extreme catchiness of A Day To Remember(thanks for the heads-up/recommendation, soundthesirens!). ADTR have a new album out on Victory, but don't hold that against them - go listen over here.
There are some unsubstantiated rumours online that Spoken are heading for Canada this spring, but nothing we've found online verifies that. Hmm. Anyone wanna corroborate this for us? Drop us a line up where it says CONTACT, eh? [TVU]
