So the twelfth edition of the Vans Warped Tour rolled through Montreal, Quebec yesterday(August 13th), and yours truly shepherded fifty kids there and back on one of four punkottawa buses(hi Shawn/Becker/Chambers), and a good time was had by all. Yours truly witnessed Helmet live for the first time and almost assuredly the last, since the style they still ply hasn't been popular in as many years as they were absent from the music landscape. So that was dope. The Fully Down, The Sleeping and I Am The Avalanche apparently bonded over the course of the summer, and all three bands simply tore apart the Smartpunk.com stage all afternoon, culminating in about fifteen bodies on stage during IATA's last number. Other sets of note included Protest the Hero(phenomenally talented for such young dudes), Thursday and Every Time I Die. That's the Warped report. Pictures to come.
