Like Comeback Kid don't have enough going on already: the video for 'Wake the Dead' landed on The Power Shift at MuchMusic, and as of five pm today the votes are, so hopefully the vid will be bumped into regular rotation on Much. This would be as cool as the time I saw Underoath and Norma Jean on George Strombolopolous' Loud show a couple years ago. Sick.
Ferret Music(Zao, Every Time I Die, Boysnightout) have put up a ton of new music on their myspace page; as well, if you wanna be bombarded with a huge array of new merchandising tie-ins from Ferret artists, check out the web store. Did you know they have a band now called LoveHateHero? I had no idea. Never heard of them.
I knew I was onto something when I saw the picture of the band on the promo CD - Five Iron Frenzy alum Andrew Verdecchio is, in fact, also the drummer for Yellow Second, who put out their Altitude album recently on Floodgate Records. You can read a review over here. I knew that was Andy on the CD! I MET the guy one time! I knew this!! I was right! Ha!
The SHAI awards(Canada's Christian music party) went down in Mississauga last weekend, and among the list of winners includes Black Talon, this live hiphop act I saw perform a few years ago at the Bronson Community Centre here in Ottawa. They killed; live instrumentation, two MCs, a lovely female singer, the works. Only question is how come they won the 'Best Hard Music' award. Weird. And weirder still, they also took home Best Rap/Hiphop/Dance album. Anyway, other winners of note included Hawk Nelson, Thousand Foot Krutch and Starfield. Good bands all. [renown]
