It's been decided at sweetdisaster headquarters that Big Cheese is gonna do his best to ditch work May 25th to go see mewithoutYou at Cafe Dekcuf. Not ditch as in not go, but simply maybe be a little late. He can always stay later in the morning, as unappetizing as that prospect is.

Just cruising around punkottawa's listings; a band we mentioned a couple weeks ago, Bleed the Dream(good band!) are gonna be playing in Hawkesbury(east of Ottawa) tomorrow night, May 5th, at the Bonsoir Lounge slash Holiday Inn. Also appearing are Vancouver-based Stutterfly; I've never heard them, but BTD are good stuff. 261 McGill Street, 7pm, $12.

Kudos to the fellas at Ferret Records on another coup; New York City legends Madball have signed with the label, who will release Legacy August 9th; the band will do some European festivals and then hop on the massive Sounds of Underground tour - which I shall not be at in Montreal, as I'll be in Bushnell, Illinois for Cornerstone. As long as it doesn't nix their show here in a couple weeks, I'm okay with this: guitarist Mike Risinger has left Sinai Beach to pursue other ventures, including management, according to a statement left on the band's website. No word yet on who will replace Risinger.

You can thank Ozzy's people for this one: there's a new track called 'Meaning In Tragedy' from As I Lay Dying right over here. Nothing wildly new, just more of the greatness we've come to expect from AILD.

Get ready: Converge, Cursed, Terror and Mare will tour Canada in its entirety this year, calling it "the best metal/hardcore tour Canada has ever witnessed." I'm certainly waiting with bated breath. I hope the Ottawa show's on a Friday.
