Morning, fuzzlings. No new content in a while, not even news, but yeah, just checking in. The move and its ramifications have me pretty busy, along with switching jobs and engaging in much socializing. You can come hang with the sd.com Big Cheese at the Pigeon John/Living Legends show tonight(Friday) at Babylon(doors 10pm - this show will go very late), or tomorrow also at Babylon for Throwdown and As I Lay Dying. Doors for that are, refreshingly, four in the afternoon. We'll all be asleep by nine.
Some quick notes:
- The new album from Subseven is solid; nothing spectacular, but the singer doesn't irritate me, and even though they're on a label(Flicker) that is an Audio Adrenaline-helmed endeavour, I like the record.
- I picked up a Suburban Home Records compilation while on tour last month and one song has established itself above the cacophony of hardcore, metal, punk and indie madness: a guy by the name of Mike Felumlee, 'bout halfway through the comp - the song is so good. Timeless indie pop-rock. I LOVE it.
Oh, and for the classic rock nerds among us: Deep Purple is coming to Ottawa soon with April Wine. And Motorhead is coming too. And I think my dad and I should go see Mark Knopfler(Dire Straits) at the NAC.
