We've been remiss in not really mentioning this until the proverbial last minute, but tomorrow night(April 1st) is the Ottawa Dance Music Community(DMC) Championships, featuring breakers, MCs and a rumoured two-hour set by Ohio DJ Rjd2. It's twenty bones in advance, and expect to pay up to thirty at the door of the Capital Music Hall(221 Rideau St. downtown) - if there are still tickets at the door, that is. Oh, and while you're at it, get your ticket to the Living Legends/J-Live/Pigeon John blowout happening April 8th at Babylon. Eighteen bucks in advance at a number of places around downtown.

In a similar vein, hiphop indie princes Illect Recordings have given notice that they'll be indulging a collective jonesing for electronic music with a new subsidiary called - duh - Illectronica. We are intrigued. For now, some of the best rap in existence can be found at the Illect website, so get moving.

Extreme music legends Living Sacrifice have returned - sort of. Their best-of(read: label contract fulfillment) album is called In Memoriam; it came out Tuesday, and it's got some new material recorded a couple months ago that's so fresh I wanna die. Okay, not really. Anyway, the band has a new website up to go with the new record, and the Band Bio is the best history of LS I've read anywhere(I'm thinking founding member Bruce Fitzhugh wrote it). Check out all the metal goodness.

I was paging through some magazines at Chapters last week, just killing time, you know, and here are some point-form notes from the various publications:
- Weezer and The Pixies are touring later this year
- My Chemical Romance and Offspring are headlining the 2005 Warped Tour, while, interestingly, the original lineup of Anthrax will headline the metal counterpart: Ozzfest
- The Black Crowes are back together!!
- Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon will star as Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter Cash in a biopic called Walk The Line, in theatres next winter

That's it for now. We're going to bed.

Oh, and sweetdisaster's Big Cheese is moving Thursday, so keep him in your thoughts/prayers.
