In more Five Iron Frenzy news...kinda...ex-ringleader Reese Roper is back in the saddle with a new solo album called Brace For The Mediocre, out now on 5 Minute Walk Records(FIF's longtime label home); it's even available here in Canada, so I know y'all can get it someplace near where you're at. The first song's called 'Hello Lamewad', and that's enough for me to wanna purchase it. Anyway, Doug van Pelt over at HM has a little interview up with the man himself over here concerning who's in the band, what they're singing about, and what the plans are. The highlight? Easily this quote: "Oh, and I won't put snow in anyone's bunk just because they refused to get out of the bus and pee onto Kansas from the Colorado border." Gold. Thanks to Brian for the header.
No Innocent Victim are indeed back, and to no one's surprise are making their comeback album with Facedown Records, owned and operated by NIV drummer Jason Dunn(what a dude). No album title or anything like that yet, or even new material to speak of, but the new album will be out next summer, and a show is on for November 19th at the Glasshouse in Pomona, California with openers Sinai Beach. I'd give my arm to be at this one. Doh!
