Essential listening for today, July 15th, is Copeland's Beneath Medicine Tree. Combining a touch of Further Seems Forever's softer moments with labelmates The Beautiful Mistake's guitar work and some killer vocals and harmonies, this is a Good Album. Also, their cover of Billy Joel's 'She's Always A Woman To Me' is pretty good. Not on this record, but good.

Speaking of Further Seems Forever, apparently there was much talk at Cornerstone Festival two weeks back that FSF's set was, um, not that good. Any confirmation/negation can be sent here. We welcome all love and flames.

And speaking of Cornerstone(we're all about the masterful segue here), the Rock For Life stage on the second day featured one wildly varied slew of acts, ranging from the west-coast hiphop of L.A. Symphony to the SoCal metalcore of As I Lay Dying, and everything in between. Dan Stephens has his little mini-account of the goings-on over at his 'zine. Enjoy the brevity. And apparently this band Aletheian are nothing short of mindblowing. Keep your eyes open.
