In Like Flynn, the Illect Records debut from L.A. Symphony member Flynn, drops today, and from all accounts, it's a blockbuster of a record. Find it.

Hot on the heels of yesterday's announcement that Mars Ill will be here in Ottawa for Worshipfest comes word that the duo are ten songs deep into recording their third album, due this fall on Gotee Records. Can't wait!

In some completely unrelated news, Julius Erving, aka NBA legend Dr. J from his heyday with the Philadelphia 76ers, is apparently mucho interested in the vacant general-manager position with the Toronto Raptors. I say if he can make the team better than this past year(which isn't much of a stretch) then bring the good doctor aboard.

Essential listening for May 4th is anything on Abacus Recordings; this California label's roster includes Glass Casket, Haste, two Canadian bands in Winnipeg's Burnthe8track(a band to watch out for) and Toronto's Abandoned Hearts Club, Heaven Shall Burn and Narcissus(who broke up a while ago, but their legacy is still great). Hit up the website and listen aplenty. How come Haste was here last fall opening for Stretch Arm Strong, and they're so good, and yet I don't even remember their set? Huh? What gives??

According to decapolis dot com, Arthur Green and Lance Garvin of the dearly-departed Living Sacrifice do some guest vocals on the new Haste The Day album, Burning Bridges. How 'bout that? It pays to read the credits.

I'm not gonna post the dates here because they're in England and I got ten bucks says no one in England is reading this, but onelinedrawing is touring with, um, Funeral For A Friend in the latter's homeland starting tonight. What's weirder is that Thursday are opening some of the shows. I'd pay big to see that bill. [soundthesirens]
