I was watching MuchMusic in between commercials during the Lakers-Suns game, and I happened to see the beginning of a Spotlight episode featuring Atlanta rapper Ludacris. This guy, check this out, this guy had this to say: "It's ninety percent business, and then ten percent music. You got to get your business straight." Um, excuse me? It's all about money? Oh, right, you're a big-time rap star. Forgive us for having heart. Geez.

Local Ottawa promoter Nick DC has a new website up for his little enterprise; check it out over here. Pretty tight.

Founding Slick Shoes drummer Joe Nixon has left the band; the man with the 'fastest foot in rock' has been replaced by Bill Lanz; he'll round out the new percussion section with incoming bassist Josh Kleven. To read what the band has to say about all this, decapolis has the statement here.

Gatineau hardcore band Forsaken Trust are releasing a new CD/EP January 24th entitled Broken Promises. If moshcore is your thing, you're down with this crew. [qchc]

The beginning dates of an upcoming Strike Anywhere tour in support of their latest, Exit English(great album):
Feb. 21 - Cotton Club, Atlanta
March 3 - Modified, Phoenix
March 5 - Chain Reaction, Anaheim, Calif.
March 7 - Troubadour, Los Angeles
March 10 - Bottom of the Hill, San Francisco
March 13 - Graceland, Seattle
March 16 - Bluebird Theater, Denver
More dates to come, presumably, including - hopefully - Canadian stops. [aversion]

hardcorechristian really likes this new indie band Reeve Oliver; the band's vocalist is one Sean O'Donnell(ex-Dogwood), and the review is right here.

Peace.
