Essential listening: Nodes of Ranvier's second self-titled album, came out last year on Facedown Records. The band has had a change of vocalists since this album came out, but rest assured the rock is still being had. I think. The way things are going in the hardcore scene these days, the band could have broken up by now.

Falling Cycle are playing their last show on the 16th at the Showcase Theatre in Corona, CA. If you live around there, you should go and witness the end of a good band.
In related news, one of the few decent emocore bands out there, Oklahoma's Enlow, are playing THEIR last show February 6th. MAN, this is a lousy trend.
The Grammy Awards air February 8th, and normally we wouldn't really care, but this Robert Randolph and the Family Band will be performing with Outkast as part of a 'tribute to funk music'. I'll be watching. Randolph was named one of the 100 greatest guitarists of all time recently by Rolling Stone, which seems a bit odd considering how recently he's hit the industry. [CMcentral]

Former Salad Dressing Records act The Rock Band(hailing from Manitoba, I believe) have put out a new record with Milwaukee's Snapdragon Records; the band will head out on their second U.S. tour later this month. Watch for them in YOUR town, raisin' cane.[punknews]
Bouncing Souls are gonna rock Conan O'Brien January 16th(that's this Friday, kiddies). Oh, and in other related news, Mr. O'Brien is apparently taking his show to Toronto for a week next month. I SO wanna go to a taping!
